Search for tourmaline in our California tourmaline ore. This tourmaline gravel paydirt comes from the mine in Pala, CA. Each bag contains a random scoop of paydirt that may contain lots of fine dirt, mica, ore chunks(rock) and hopefully gemstones. Tourmaline from this area may be pink, green, blue, black or bi-color in needle or pencil shapes as well as bits and pieces. You'll want to look over every piece of quartz for embedded tourmaline pieces. Keep a close eye for pinks and purples. The purples are usually a type of mica called lepidolite - nice for collecting but not worth much. Also be on the look out for quartz, apatite, morganite, clevelandite, calcite, feldspar, topaz, spessartine garnet, aquamarine, and kunzite. This is a rich area and produces many different gemstones.
Keep in mind, it's mining and always a gamble.
